The Martin Luther King Celebration Committee’s King Holiday celebration.
On Sunday, January 18th, beginning at 3:30 p.m. despite the inclement weather, a program was held at the Southport Fire Headquarters, Howe St. that included guest speakers and an indoor march.
On Monday, January 19th, beginning at 8 a.m. the Round Table Breakfast in Murrow Hall at Trinity Methodist Church was held. The prestigious Walter Welsh Award was presented to Rev. Moses Herring of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Supply NC.
A big THANK YOU to all the Volunteers over the past year. With all your help, we served over 1,100 families during the Holiday Season and over 6,500 families for the 2025 year.
Also, thanks to all those who have donated financially, our retail stores, our local non-profits who ran food drives, the annual post office drive, area churches and many groups of neighbors and clubs.
We look forward to another year doing God’s work in feeding the hungry.
Please continue to support the food pantry with food or monetary donations.
